- Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruction and ELL Team Support
- Support ELL Teachers during push-in and pull-out instructional sessions.
- Lead small-group pull-out instruction (e.g., WIN groups) using provided plans across Grades 1–5.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce language learning goals, vocabulary development, and classroom tasks.
- Support students with diverse academic language needs.
- Maintain strong classroom management and engagement during small-group instruction.
- Assist students in understanding ELL support routines and expectations in age-appropriate ways.
- Help students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.
- Supporting Students in and out of the classroom setting
- Help students develop organization, independence, and age-appropriate academic routines.
- Support student engagement, positive behavior, and confidence in classroom and small-group settings.
- Assist ELL teachers with the preparation, organization, and adaptation of instructional materials.
- Supervise students during transitions, learning activities, and ELL-related sessions as needed.
- Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for young multilingual learners.
- Collaboration and Professional Practice
- Proactively check in with ELL teachers and team leader to identify needs.
- Contribute to team efficiency through strong follow-through and responsiveness.
- Share observations about student progress, language development, and needs with the ELL Teachers.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional learning as required, with a focus on improving practice.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate professionalism in attendance, punctuality, conduct, and confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative and organizational tasks related to ELL services, including preparation of materials, assessment support, and documentation.
- Systems and Program Support
- Maintain and update ELL documentation systems, including spreadsheets (e.g., language profiles, WIN groups, tracking data).
- Prepare, organize, and manage instructional materials (printing, copying, digital files).
- Maintain and organize shared folders, files, and resources for the ELL team.
- Support team efficiency by anticipating logistical needs and ensuring materials and systems are ready in advance.
- Certifications and Education
- Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desired
- Coursework or degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, Pedagogy, or a related field.
- Training or experience working with multilingual learners or elementary-aged students.

- Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff in support of student learning.
